Melbourne Cup Day

it was the Melbourne Cup today...still duno what it is about that race that is run at 3pm on this day that stops the nation ,especially when there are so many other races being run....anyway was a fantastic race....watched it, Makybe Diva won 3rd year in a row and throughout the race it wasn't even placed anywhere in the first 4 places and all of a sudden at the home stretch, it just came out of nowhere to take the first place. Amazing! Oh well, if you think it isn't amazing, then maybe it's coz i don't usually watch horse races so this was really amazing...i guess the atmosphere at the pub (it was an office lunch at the pub to watch the race) must have affected the way i felt too plus the alcohol...not that i drank that much...just 2 glasses of champagne...also kinda learnt abit about betting...hehe...one of the bosses was really amazed coz i told him that i didn't gamble and i didn't know how to and he responded with "Are you Asian?" coz in his mind, Asians like to gamble...not sure if that's a valid assumption or not...but anyway i did learn a few things today....all in all i had a fun time today....on top of taking a sickie yesterday and only working half a day today (the afternoon's basically a wipe-off coz of the Melbourne Cup) and then probably only working half a day tomorrow coz tomorrow arvo, Karen (this Irish gal who works with us) and I will be helping David unpack his kitchen stuff. He's just bought a new place and is scheduled to move in tomorrow and since his sister-in-law and sister helped him pack up the stuff at his place in boxes a couple of weeks ago, he asked if we could help him unpack some stuff to speed things up....not that i wouldn't mind the distraction...haven't been in much mood to do some serious work....which isn't too good coz i've got a couple of jobs to finish up, some of which are kinda urgent, but i obviously won't have much time this week to get them all done....oh well....see how it goes

this week just seems to be pretty tiring, on top of all the stuff at work, have been trying to work on 1 Cor 12.....it seems like a pretty easy passage to understand but somehow, the more i read it the more questions i have....duno why i get so confused so easily....haiz....

then...i have to help Grace with finding someone to sing at her wedding, coming up with songs for her wedding and stuff like that....stress me out man...that's it....have to keep my head down and work really really hard the next couple of nights....no more enjoying myself at night eg watching my new Korean drama series "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" hehe....it's pretty funny, but yeah Doreen was right...she said i'd end up crying quite a bit watching this drama series coz it's tragically funny in a sense

oh yah....it's almost confirmed....will be going back to studying next session...David's decided or rather "ordered" me to go back to uni to finish up my last subject on Company law so that i can fulfill the prerequisites to start the Chartered Accountacy program next year....he'll pay for the school fees and even give me a day off work next year to study which is great...coz the course that i'm looking at doing is a post-grad course which means that lectures will be in the evening and with the one-day off per week, even though i'll be nerding, hopefully i'll still be able to use at least half a day to do something useful....anyway we'll see how it goes next year...

haiz...need to get more motivated!!
