yep it was nice zipping around in the Mini on Saturday - such a retro looking car except fairly small interior (only fits 2 people comfortably although it's a 4/5 seater car). we drove with the top down to Kiama all the way and back and I suppose although I had sunscreen on, it was inevitable that I got sunburnt so now my neck and shoulders are in pain, and I've got a ridiculous sunnies mark on my face...sigh....
Domain in the Opera was ok, would have enjoyed it more if we weren't sitting so far behind and if people would just sit down and not keep walking around all the time and if people actually kept quiet and watchd the opera instead of chatting with their friends (I personally found it quite rude of these people to keep chatting with their friends when they were supposed to be watching the opera). so after the first opera ended (they were performing 2 short operas that night), we left and headed for the Rocks, walked along the Cahill walk (along the Cahill Expressway) for the first time to the Rocks (after deciding that walking along the Cahill Walk to Milsons Point was too far and something to be left for another time) and ended up at one of my favourite bookshops, Ariel Booksellers. There's always at least something interesting to be found in that shop, plus they are one of the few shops that open till late! Got 3 books from there since they were on sale, 2 novels for $2 each and a Cuba Look Book for $5. It's a picture book of Cuba with a CD of Cuban music - Cuba looks really interesting, kinda reminds me of the south of Spain - the architecture, the old crumbling buildings but with a certain charm to it....wonder if by the time (and if we ever) get to visit Cuba, it would become too touristy and over-rated
