well....am sitting here in front of Merrill's computer updating my blog.....he just got back from singapore today....had to wait abt an hr for him to get out of customs after the plane arrived coz he got stopped...he had bought some ciggies for his bro and kenna stopped coz it was over the limit u could buy or sth so in the end, the ciggies got confiscated and now melvyn will have to go pay some money and collect them himself....
anyway am waiting for uncle keh (merrill's uncle) to close up the restaurant tonight so that we can go out for dinner....so yeah, am waiting and have decided to update my blog.....many things have happened....one of which is the incident on friday night....erm....am too lazy to type it out and i guess most of u would have read it on doreen's blog and since i'm quite IT illiterate i have no idea how to link u up to that page should u wish to read it, ask me abt it if u wanna find out but suffice it to say the incident has left me feeling like i should never take my safety on the streets forgranted....had to stand outside the train station last night for like 5 minutes to wait for my dad to pick me up after my night lecture....and that was an agonizing 5 minutes coz there was hardly anyone around and i was so suspicious of everyone who walked past....it was just bad....hopefully i won't always feel this way when i'm alone at night.....am just so wary of everyone nowadays
well....got my new cookbook from singapore "The Best of Singapore Cooking" by Mrs Leong Yee Soo...hehe....so cool that book....spent the arvo flipping through it...it's got so many recipes and it's got recipes like nao lum (braised beef brisket), kuey chap etc etc.....hehe....can't wait to start trying out the recipes...although i dun think i'll try any in the next month....am quite flat out with the summer course...can't wait for it to be over...the final exam is on 28th Feb so i'll be a free woman after that....yay!!! got our group assignment for the summer course due in like 2 weeks time, and one of my grp members is really...hmm....how should i describe him?......demanding? not a bad sort of demanding though.....he wants to get like at least 80% for our group assignment which is why he's kinda pushing the rest of us really hard to come up with a good project....it's a gd thing i suppose...but with all these things going on...it's kinda hard to concentrate on studying....but i'm so thankful that at least david (my boss) has given me 2 days off a week to go study so that's been really helpful
talking abt david....he found out last week that he's got another daughter who is 38 yrs old....all of us at work were kinda shocked when he told us abt it but it's really interesting in that almost everyone including his daughter and son, and friends are taking it really well and really excited...not tht i'm not excited and happy for him, but i just duno what to say abt it...anyway if u dun really know what i'm talking abt yet....my boss got one of his old girlfriends pregnant (when they were abt 20?), and then duno what happened, but he never saw that girl again and the baby got given up for adoption.....so he knew he had a baby but he didnt know whether it was a boy or a girl and all of a sudden....she's managed to find him....she's married and she's got 2 kids....anyway she's coming up from wollongong (which is where she lives) in 2 weeks time to meet him for lunch and see how it goes from there....like whether she'll introduce david to the rest of the family...and david's really nervous and excited....he doesnt know where to bring her for lunch....hehe....never really seen him like that before
anyway time to go....will update more next time
