Public transport

thought today's topic should be on public transport seeing as i take it about 5 out of 7 days in the week. public transport in Sydney borders on the ridiculous. on my way to work today, i took a bus driver where the driver was basically speeding around and slamming on his brakes at the last minute. but that's a pretty common occurance. then when i was taking the train, the trains on the North Shore line were delayed because a train had broken down at Town Hall so they urged everyone who was waiting to cross the platform and take the City Circle train to Wynyard to catch some bus that was waiting there to take people to the North Shore line stations. As I was on that City Circle train, we passed by the previous 2 trains on the North Shore line that were basically sitting on the tracks whilst the train that had broken down was being fixed. Was thinking to myself that thank goodness i wasn't on those trains coz you wouldnt know when you'd be able to get off the train. Like a couple of months ago, the trains along the North Shore line were stopped again because of a malfunctioning train and people were stuck on their trains for like 3 hrs and when they were finally allowed off the train to walk along the tracks to the nearest station, they discovered that they were only like a hundred metres or so from the train platform. And apparently that was a horrible experience because it was peak hour and the trains were crowded with people, and there weren't bathrooms on board and people had to do their business off the back of the train coz they weren't allowed off the train. Anyway when we got to Wynyard, there was a huge bunch of people walking around trying to look for the buses when the station manager starts shouting that the North Shore trains are back in service and calls for everyone to run up the stairs to get the next train which was arriving in 2 mins so it was a bit of a detour getting into work today. Then on the way home, got onto this really horrible bus driver's bus. Kept speeding and taking sharp corners, and the worst thing was when some elderly people got on, he didnt even wait for them to get safely to their seat but just started driving off and speeding. And the worst thing was that at a bus stop, he basically closed the door on some guy whose head was only halfway through the door. There were heaps of people getting on the bus and when there were still people on the steps of the bus, paying for their fare, he just closed the door and drove off without even checking if there were still some people that weren't safely in the bus yet. Good thing the guy managed to pull his head out, and the bus driver just ignored the guy and kept driving on. Horrible man!
