Baking

Been baking this weekend. Rushed out a vanilla cupcake with butter cream icing yesterday. Rushed because we had to leave at mid-day to go to Merrylands (which is pretty far away) to meet my parents for lunch and I wanted to get the baking etc done before we left. It turned out ok, except i think there was too much butter. I have realised that my weighing scales probably aren't that accurate. I cut out (according to the measurement on the butter pack, eg 150g of butter) but when i chucked it on the weighing scales which i normally don't bother doing, it only registered like 50g so i kept putting in more and more butter on the weighing scales until it registered 150g. probably explains why the cupcakes turned out so rich and buttery. Anyway did chocolate cupcakes and chocolate icing today, and now am trying my hand at oreo cheesecake cupcake. My entire house smells really sweet. I hope it doesn't attract unwanted pests i.e. cockroaches. We attracted our neighbour's cat the other day. We left the back door open and it actually wandered into our house. I think it was coz we were cooking fish that night. We havent seen it so close to our house or even close to entering our house since then.
